eXTReMe Tracker

no humans allowed

Most hardcore Hot Hot Heat fans have heard the song "Ulyses." It's a good song, I personally love it. But what is the meaning behind those lyrics? It never made much sense to me. I thought it might have been some strange girl. But then some of that wouldn't make sense. After all it does say "Oh he's alone at my door." (You can listen to the song in the music player) Well, let's just say this little video got posted on the internet. And it explained it all. Ulyses was an adorable black cat! This short film was made by Steve and Paul and is absolutely hilarious! Here is what Steve wrote about the video before he deleted his myspace:

"A short film by Steve Bays & Paul Hawley. Filmed in 2003 in "Apt. 101" in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, the two and a half minute documentary covers the highly controversial subject of feline-based oppression and struggle for independence in a homosapien's society. No Humans Allowed inevitably begs the question: is there such thing as reverse speciesism? Or, does 2000 years of domestic feline oppression grant a certain amount of acceptable anti-human sentiment which many may and/or already do consider a well earned social restitution, void of spiritual and/or fiscal sanctions, for this highly intelligent species, previously underestimated as nothing but mere clandestine cuddle servants to the opposable thumb bearing elite? Bays and Hawley's no holds barred reality thrill ride approach to film making won them the highly coveted Best 2:30-2:40 Short Film Award at the recent Hastings & Main Paws Off Awards."
